Station Street Parking Area Closed
The Station St Lake Placid parking area is closed for construction of the new Trailhead. Funded by the Open Space Institute in partnership with the Village of Lake Placid, the new trailhead will have bathrooms, picnic areas, signs, and more.
In the meantime, please park at the snow field lot on Old Military Road, east of the Lake Placid Fire Station (448 Old Military) . We will be sharing updates about construction and parking throughout the season.
The Adirondack Rail Trail Community Day returns on Saturday, June 20th
Our second annual Adirondack Rail Trail Community is just around the corner! We’ll have stewardship projects in the morning, rides throughout the day, and a party with music, raffles, and food in Riverside Park in Saranac Lake on Saturday, June 20th.
Thank you to Bike Adirondacks for once again spearheading the effort of coordinating this event, benefiting the Adirondack Rail Trail Association. Registration is free. We hope that you’ll join us for this family-friendly celebration, showcasing the pristine landscape, communities and businesses.
We are still currently looking for sponsors for the day as well as vendors for the evening celebration. If you are part of an organization or own a small business that is interested in being involved with the Rail Trail or with Community Day, please contact Julia Goren at julia@adirondackrailtrail.org or (518) 241-6589.
ARTA awarded America Walks Grant
We are thrilled to announce that America Walks has awarded ARTA funding through their Community Change Grants Program. This program support champions, organizations, and agencies working to advance walkability, as the Adirondack Rail Trail does for our communities.
These funds will pay for printing signs for new kiosks in the Village of Saranac Lake.
Youth Center plants trees along the Trail
Thank you to the Saranac Lake Youth Center for a wonderful, chilly afternoon of planting trees along the rail trail.
