Now Open Between Lake Placid and Saranac Lake

Now Closed to the Public Between Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake

Construction on Phase 2 of the Adirondack Rail Trail begins on Thursday, June 1, 2023.
Saranac Lake to Floodwood Road, Town of Santa Clara: CLOSED for public use. Use of the corridor is prohibited for the duration of the construction contract except during the winter shutdown between December 18 to March 31. Please respect posted signage and barricades.
 

Updates on Construction of the Adirondack Rail Trail

Lake Placid to Saranac Lake:  CLOSED for public use. Use of the corridor is prohibited for the duration of the summer until phase one is completed this fall. Please respect posted signage and barricades.
  • Saranac Lake to Floodwood Road, Town of Santa Clara: CLOSED for public use. Use of the corridor is prohibited for the duration of the construction contract except during the winter shutdown between December 18 to March 31. Please respect posted signage and barricades.
  • Tupper Lake:  Interim recreation is allowed at users' own risk on this unimproved section of the corridor. Public use may be limited or restricted in sections due to hazardous conditions or active construction or maintenance. ATV use is prohibited. Please respect posted signage and barricades.
  • Saranac Lake Depot:  Work began on the parking lot at the Saranac Lake Depot.
